Call for Expressions of Interest for Basic Camera Use Coaching

Some members have enquired whether our club could offer some coaching on basic camera use and basic editing of images. We see the best way to offer this is to first of all go through basic camera use and to assist members to capture some images. At a following session participants will have the opportunity of coaching on basic editing of their images and preparing their images for EDI or print competition entry.

The first session will be offered on Thursday 22/2 between 10.00am and 2.00pm at Valentine Bowling Club. If you would like to attend this session please contact Greg Carruthers to register your interest . Please note that these sessions will be aimed mainly at beginners. If you have a camera and you are not sure of how to use it in different situations, these sessions are for you. Greg’s email address is gkcarruthers@gmail.com or on mobile phone at 0410 629 620.

Photoshoot on this Wednesday

Our first photoshoot for 2024 will be at Pirrita Island boardwalk Swansea on Wednesday 24th of January. Meet in the carpark at approx 6pm. Sunset is at 8pm with golden hour at approx 7.30pm to 8.15pm followed by blue hour at 8.20 to 8.30pm.

Make sure you pack your camera gear including tripod if you want to capture some long exposure sunset or blue hour images. The area is mainly wetlands, mangrove and grasses and at this time of the evening there will be mosquitos and sandflies. Make sure you have repellant. Weather forecast is for a hot day and evening.

Not sure how to get there? A Google maps search for “Pirrita island carpark and foreshore” will locate the car park and give you directions.

Any questions please contact me on or before Wednesday

See you there GregC
